About The Mumz
The Mumz are a 4 piece eclectic Rock n’ Roll band based out of The Outer Banks of North Carolina. Known for blending elements of funk, punk and blues into an energetic live performance creating a unique collective sound of their own.
Formed in the winter 2015/2016, they are the evolution of former power trio The Goblins, in which Guitarist/Singer-Songwriter Barry Wells and Bassist/Singer-Songwriter Blake Durham traded off their prowess in a punkish Lennon/McCartney-esque manner. After adding Wells’ childhood friend and Lead Guitarist Niki James (Full Sail Production Student & Jimi Hendrix enthusiast) as well as Percussionist Zach Shaftan (Lifetime Jazz/Rock protege) it was then that the band was complete and The Mumz were born.
