Hurricane Dorian Fundraiser a Success!

Sunday’s fundraiser was a huge success – $5500 raised – Thank You OBX!!!!!
Unfortunately it takes calamitous events like Hurricane Dorian to remind us how caring and quick to respond this community can be.  In less than a week we put together a fundraiser around our first Full Moon Oyster Roast of the off-season to raise money for the Outer Banks Community Foundation. A quartet of Brewing Station Bartending Legends – Chris Queensbury (Blue Point), Scott Smith (OB Distilling), Jay Ammons (Mama Kwan’s) & Terry Kelly (Two Roads) returned to donate their time posting up in the outside bar and slinging drinks from 3 to 7 for the cause.  Ravann Rachelle from RavRa Productions brought in some great performances by Frozen Head & the Squirrels, Vin Corsale and the always-fun Manday Huge to keep the backyard rocking while FFMS student volunteers hustled $1000 worth of raffle tickets to a raucous crowd of locals as some FFES students sold handmade earrings and oysters cooked on the grill. Brewing Station Manager Jessica King put together a loaded silent auction featuring some amazing art, gift certificates & merch that raised thousands.  All in all a fantastic time was had and a bit of desperately needed coin was raised for our resilient cousins down south – Hang Tough Ocracoke – We’re here for you!!!!
Many, many thanks goes out to these wonderful people & businesses that donated their time, money, or effort for the event:
